What our clients say

Trusted by families and businesses across East Yorkshire

Excellent service when purchasing my lovely home. Kept up to date and brought the purchase to fruition.
Home purchase, conveyancing
Brewer Wallace recently completed the conveyancing for both the sale and purchase of our properties and our solicitor, Kamila Bukowska, was polite, pleasant, informative and responsive from day 1 until completion and I could not fault her professionalism at all times. As such we would not hesitate to recommend Brewer Wallace to anyone requiring conveyancing and obviously in particular Kamila.
Sale & purchase, conveyancing
My husband and I used Brewer Wallace for our wills. We dealt with Deborah Taylor from the Hornsea office. Deborah explained everything clearly and was very knowledgeable. We were given an outstanding, professional, friendly service from start to finish, making the process of creating our wills easy and painless. I would recommend Deborah Taylor and Brewer Wallace Solicitors to anyone looking for a reliable and highly skilled solicitor. Thank you.

Questions

Using a solicitor in Hull: common questions

How much does a solicitor in Hull charge?

It depends on the work, and we tell you before you commit to anything. Residential conveyancing is a fixed fee: from £900 plus VAT for a purchase and from £895 plus VAT for a sale, with searches and Land Registry fees itemised on top. A single will is £220 plus VAT and mirror wills are £299 plus VAT. For other work we agree the fee with you before we start.

Can I speak to someone before I instruct you?

Yes. Call our Hull office on 01482 228808 and we will explain how we can help and what your matter is likely to cost before you commit to anything.

How do I choose a solicitor in Hull?

Check that the firm is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, look for the Law Society accreditations for your type of work (the Conveyancing Quality Scheme for property and the Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme for wills), and ask for the fee in writing before you start. Brewer Wallace is SRA regulated, holds both accreditations and is a member of LawNet.

Where is your Hull office?

2 Parliament Street, Hull, HU1 2AP, in the city centre. We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and appointments are arranged in advance.

Do I need to come into the office?

Not always. Much of the work can be dealt with by telephone, post and email, and independent legal advice can often be given by video where the other party accepts this. For wills, we can arrange a home visit if travelling into Hull is difficult because of ill health or caring responsibilities.

Do you handle family or criminal cases?

No. We focus on property, wills and probate, business law and independent legal advice. If your matter falls outside our work, we will tell you so and help you find the right firm.
