Our AI search

The search box on our home page uses AI to understand what you need and take you to the right page on our website. This page explains exactly what happens to what you type.

What happens when you search

When you submit a search, your words are sent to our website's server. Before anything else, our server removes obvious personal details: phone numbers, email addresses, postcodes, card numbers, National Insurance and NHS numbers, and dates of birth. The rest is sent to an AI model whose only job is to choose, from a fixed list of the services we offer, the one that best matches what you described, so we can take you straight to the right page.

The AI does not give legal advice, and it cannot write anything on our website. Every page you are taken to was written by us in advance.

What we keep, and why

To make the search work better for our clients, we keep a record of each search:

We do not record your IP address with your search, and a search is never linked to your name, even if you go on to contact us. Search records are deleted automatically after 12 months. They can be seen only by Brewer Wallace and the agency that runs our website, Dynamics, and are used only to improve the search. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in helping visitors find the right service quickly.

Please do not type anything confidential or sensitive into the search box. If you would like to tell us about your situation, our contact form or a phone call is the right place for that.

What we do not do

Where the AI runs

Our AI search is Keisha 5.1. It runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS), in AWS data centres in the UK and Europe. Under AWS's contract terms for the business AI service we use, your text is used only to answer your search: AWS does not keep it, does not use it to train any AI model, and does not share it with anyone else. These are contractual commitments in a business service, not the settings of a consumer product.

What stays on your device

Your browser keeps your search for the rest of your visit so the page you land on can work smoothly. It is deleted automatically when you close the tab.

Your choices and rights

You never have to use the AI search. Every page has our phone number and a normal contact form, and neither uses AI. You can ask us for a copy of, or to delete, any search record we hold about you, and you have the other rights set out in our privacy policy, including the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
