Hornsea house prices at a glance

The average sold price for a home in Hornsea over the most recent twelve months of completed sales was around £228,000 (£227,885), based on HM Land Registry records. That is around 3% down on the previous year, though still about 2% above the town's 2023 figure of £222,899.

Hornsea sits a little above Bridlington on average, helped by its quieter feel, the draw of the mere, and a housing stock weighted towards family homes rather than holiday flats.

Hornsea prices by property type

  • Detached homes averaged around £285,000 (£284,719).
  • Semi-detached homes averaged around £196,000 (£196,362).
  • Terraced homes averaged around £200,000 (£199,833), noticeably higher than terraced prices in many neighbouring towns.

Values also shift with location, from homes near the seafront and Hornsea Mere to properties in the surrounding villages such as Mappleton, Atwick and Sigglesthorne.

What it means if you are buying or selling in Hornsea

A small dip over the year, on top of a market that remains above its 2023 level, points to a settled town where well-presented homes still find buyers. Getting a conveyancer instructed early is the easiest way to avoid delays once an offer is accepted.

Our Hornsea conveyancing team handles sales and purchases across the town and the surrounding villages. For more, see our guide to buying or selling a home in Hornsea, or call our Hornsea office on 01964 537856.
